The Surf Shak will now be offering Advanced Surf Classes to take your surfing to the next level. We will be offering the classes in 3 and 7 day packages. There simply isn’t enough time in an 1.5 hour beginner class to really go out and take your surfing to the next level.
The 3 day packages include: Rash Guard/Surf Board/Leash
Over the 3 and 7 day lessons you will cover the following: Ocean safety, reading the waves, duck diving, take-off techniques and carving. The classes meet for 1.5 to 2 hours each day.
The cost is $75.00 for the 3 day course.
The cost is $125 for the 7 day course. (2 DAYS FREE)
If you want to really take a shot at becoming a surfer you have to put in a little more time. Come to Canoa and stop by the Shak to book your lesson to take you to the next level.

Well the holidays are over and it’s time to get serious, about surfing. Next week marks the first swell of the year and it’s looking like a nice one.
Recently the Surf Shak has teamed up with SUP Girls Paddle Boards and we are offering Stand Up Paddle Boards classes for beginners and intermediate. We recently purchased two very pretty Paddle Boards and they are very nice. After the beginner class in Rio Canoa you can then practice your skills in the surf. Stop by the Shak for more details.
This is the best time of the year for flying on the coast in Canoa. We’ve been getting in the clouds and crossing from the “small” launch to Punto Napo and back to Canoa. Amazing conditions.
There is also a paragliding competition in Canoa on the 10th and 11th of September that will host 45 pilots. Come down and join us for some fun.
